(Boston).- Encore Boston Harbor, the $2.6 billion Everett casino opening Sunday morning, has more gaming space than Wynn Las Vegas and Encore Las Vegas combined.

The two-level casino has 3,100 slot machines, 231 table games and private gaming rooms. They range from the classic blackjack and poker tables to Game of Thrones and X Files-themed games. It also has penny slots.
“This casino will have something for everybody,” Wynn Resorts CEO Matt Maddox told reporters on Friday, adding that there isn’t a dress code for the gaming floor.
Eastern Massachusetts’ first casino is set to open Sunday morning June 23, drawing thousands of people to the property along the Mystic River. Wynn Resorts executives urged visitors across New England to use public transportation and other alternatives to get to the casino, though at least some of the company’s top clients will get car service to and from Logan International Airport.
Across the state, MGM Springfield is struggling to reach its pre-opening gaming projections. MGM Springfield reported gross gambling revenue in May of $22.285 million, 2.14 percent higher from the $21.8 million in gross gambling revenue the casino reported in April. MGM Springfield President Michael Mathis attributes part of the results to a clientele that tends to frequent the restaurants and bars instead of spending thousands on the gaming floor.
Encore Boston Harbor President Bob DeSalvio described MGM Springfield as a regional destination. He sees the Everett casino, however, as an international destination that will attract high rollers. Maddox foresees the Everett casino getting a bigger share of its revenue from gaming than the Las Vegas casinos do, but it won’t be mostly gaming related like it is in Macau.
“This will definitely be, I think, a very vibrant casino, but we’re looking forward to the non-gaming assets doing quite well here,” Maddox said.
The casino floor has 65-inch televisions throughout that stream sports events, rest rooms and other amenities. The closest restaurants are the buffet on the first floor and the casual sports bar, On Deck, on the second floor.
The table games
There are 143 table games on the main floor, including baccarat, blackjack, roulette, poker and craps. There’s a poker room with 88 tables and private gaming rooms with terraces. Each table in the poker room has USB ports so gamers can charge their phones or tablets while playing.
The slots and high-limit games
The 3,100 slot machines with coinless play. Coinless slot machines have grown increasingly popular across the gaming industry. The Los Angeles Times, citing the Nevada Gaming Control Board, reported that traditional coin slots accounted for less than 3 percent of $50.5 billion garnered in slot machines in fiscal year 2015.
The casino has 53 high limit slot machines, video poker and reel games, where the betting minimums range from $5 to $500. There are also two private high-limit gaming rooms.
